Full day food tours

Based in Ireland's rural communities, food tours are a great multi generational day of activities.  They are a prefect day for small groups of family, friends and work colleagues. â€‹

Each tour can be designed for you group and its needs.

Tours can start and finish at your hotel or other agreed point  and Margaret, your guide, can join you in your vehicle or can arrange the hire of a suitable vehicle.

 Tours â€‹

Connemara Culinary adventures

Spend the day in Connemara meeting a small scale vegetable grower who works the rocky windswept land. Or forage along the shore and taste edible plants and seaweeds and try some abalone grown in the fresh clean waters of the Atlantic. We could stop for coffee and condiments with a small scale producer of sauces and dressings. You could finish the tour with a visit to a micro brewery and sure you might as well have a taste of the beer and lager while you're there.

*These tours are generally private tours booked for 2-15 guests.

Mayo Munchies tour

Mayo, or the Plains of the Yew tree, is home to many great farmers including a sheep farmer who makes great yogurt and cheeses. There's an oyster farmer who discovered he could make a better living from the sea than the land. Or how about visiting a micro brewery set up by two veterinarians who wanted a different lifestyle?  Or a young couple who travelled the world but found their home on an organic farm in Mayo.

Mayo is also home to the Museum Of Country life where we can learn about the culinary history of Ireland.

*These tours are generally private tours booked for 2-15 guests.

The Burren Rocky Road tour

The unique landscape of the Burren is home to the Cliffs of Moher and internationally famous for its unique flora. Learn about the Winterage which is a traditional method of farming dating back hundreds of years. Meet the goats that give the milk that makes award winning cheeses. Be smitten by the working sheep dogs and taste ice cream made just feet away from the milking parlor. Do you know what grikes and erratics are? Well you will at the end of this tour

*These tours are generally private tours booked for 2-15 guests.

Solo Food tours for the culinary adventurous

Unique to Fable Tours is a five day food tour. The small group tours (max 12)  will explore our rural communities, visit farmers and food producers. We will learn about the culinary and farming history of Ireland. We will break bread together over beautiful local food, chat and have the craic.

Margaret has used her own experiences as a traveler when curating the tours. The tour includes transportation for the five days, all entry and guide fees, all meals and tastings.

Dates for 2025 will be released in November
