Join us on 15th or 29th May for a full day food tour of Connemara, Co Galway as part of the Blas na Bealtaine (May Food Festival).
We will taste locally made condiments and sauces, learn how vegetables grown in Connemara end up on the menus of Michelin star restaurants, enjoy shore foraging and tasting seaweed treats, dine in an award winning cafe and seafood pub.
The tours start and finish in Galway city and includes transport, all farm tour fees, food, tastings and a full time guide

Connemara Culinary adventures
Spend the day in Connemara meeting a small scale vegetable grower who works the rocky windswept land. Or forage along the shore and taste edible plants and seaweeds and try some abalone grown in the fresh clean waters of the Atlantic. We could stop for coffee and condiments with a small scale producer of sauces and dressings. You could finish the tour with a visit to a micro brewery and sure you might as well have a taste of the beer and lager while you're there.

Mayo Munchies tour
Mayo, or the Plains of the Yew tree, is home to many great farmers including a sheep farmer who makes great yogurt and cheeses. There's an oyster farmer who discovered he could make a better living from the sea than the land. Or how about visiting a micro brewery set up by two veterinarians who wanted a different lifestyle? Mayo is also home to the Museum Of Country life where we can learn about the culinary history of Ireland.

The Burren Rocky Road tour
The unique landscape of the Burren is home to the Cliffs of Moher and internationally famous for its unique flora. Learn about the Winterage which is a traditional method of farming dating back hundreds of years. Meet the goats that give the milk that makes award winning cheeses. Be smitten by the working sheep dogs and taste ice cream made just feet away from the milking parlor. Do you know what grikes and erratics are? Well you will at the end of this tour

Solo Food tours for the culinary adventurous
Unique to Fable Tours in 2024 are five day food tours for solo travelers. Based in Connemara or Mayo we spend the days visiting farmers and food producers and nights breaking bread together with great local food. Margaret has used her own experiences as a solo traveler when curating the tours and there is no single supplement. The tours are all inclusive. Pick up and drop off is in Galway city.
